Swimming? Why the hell not?

With his eyes closed, and her movmeents so quiet, he hadn't realised anything was going on. He'd heard her move her feet, but knew she hadn't left, simply turned slightly. he was also aware of the 2 rabbits about 20 feet away behind him, doing what rabbits do best and unaware they were being listened to.

His eyes did fly open when the water hit him, left hand dropping to his sword, which wasn't there.

He casts his eyes around, looking for danger, then relaxed when he saw the smile on her face.

I suppose you think that's funny? Well, maybe I should send you on an errand to... er... He tried to think of a suitable punishment.
Become friends with Liselle! He had no idea if the pesky kid was still around, or even if she was still as annoying as he remebered. Maybe Jade wouldn't have a clue who she was, but it was still a big punishment.

That's right, pass the buck onto him. He closed his eyes, leaning back once more wondered where the rabbits had got to in their matings.

Kharne rolled his eyes just a little.
"Liselle is one of the queen's many children. To my knowledge she left the realm years ago. She must have been one of the most spoilt children I've ever seen, with more pets than a zoo. She did have her good points though." He offered a shrug.

Keeping his eyes closed - he was testing himself in perception awareness; he knew where they both were at the moment, and was tracking their small movements by their footsteps.

He smiled at Kharne's description. Far more mild than he would have used. If Liselle hasn't been under his protection, he had no doubt she would have "fallen down the stairs" a few times while he was escorting around.

She had good points? Or do you mean those times when she wasn't around?

Maybe he was biased because he'd once had to try and teach Liselle, which hadn't gone well at all.

~she chuckled at the description of Liselle~

"Oh one of those types."

Kharne chuckled briefly. "Maybe she's grown up a little by now. She'll be a lot older."
"Salarain is coming along nicely. Trade is booming and all that merchantile stuff. The state of the city itself, well, that's down to the people who live there."
He shrugged a little knowing that it was the commoners in any society that were the foundation and mortar of that society.
"In truth I was thinking of asking Ava to appoint a replacement, or at least some more help. Even if it were just for a while. Give me more time with my daughter."

He opened one eye, looking about 3 feet to the right of Kharne. Damn, he'd been off by a few feet.

You got anyone in mind? Sure, some of the people I used to know might not be around any more, but I might know some dirt on anyone you're thinking of.

Actually, thinking about it, his best non-guard friend had tried to kill him, and his other had turned into a demon and tried to kill the Queen. Perhaps he wasn't the best judge of characters.

Kharne offered a wry smile.
"Ava should be able to arrange matters if she allows it. Salarain needs an administrator, not a soldier."
He stopped before Artimus, making the reversal in height differences easily apparent. The scars which had marred his snout were more easily visible running down his cheek in this form, a trophy from his mortal days when he had taken on a behemoth and almost been killed by it.
"I was happier in the army, point and fight, but I want a little time to take care of things."

~she smiled noticed the marks running down his cheek~

"Everyone needs alittle time to get things done without having to worry about other things getting in the way. Am sure something could be done. I bet your daughter would love to be able to spend sometime with you. I am glad I got ~she grins~ the old man. ~she chuckles alittle.~ Mom figured he would come back i was starting to believe he wouldn't. But here he is."

He remains leaning against the tree, nodding to Kharne as he talks about being a soldier.

I don't know. Life as a civilian is certainly very enjoyable at the moment. I'd have to be convinced pretty heavily to go back to it.. He closed his eyes once again, thinking how alike he and Kharne were. Not physically of course, but mentally. Despite hsi words he knew would still fight for what he believed in.

His eyes sprang open as Jade calls him "Old man" once again.

I told you to stop doing that. I'm not too old to... er... beat you at something.
