A pastor visits a small village, and asks a farmer if he can stay with him for the duration of his visit. The farmer and his wife are overjoyed at the prospect of this, and offer their spare room with full board for as long as the pastor needs it. He is invited in and shown to his room, where he is left alone to sort his belongings out.
In the meantime the farmer kills his prized turkey to provide an excellent evening meal for their special guest. At 6 o clock the pastor is invited down to dine with them, and he walks in on the turkey dinner. He takes his place at the table and the farmers wife asks if he would say grace.
"Lord. We thank you for this meal." he says then they all tuck into dinner.
It is a very satisfying meal which he enjoys, then he retires to his room to prepare for his sermon the next morning. Just before bedtime he joins the farmer and his wife for supper, which consists of cold turkey sandwiches. He says grace once more.
"Lord, we thank you for this meal. Hebrews 13:8" and then eats his sandwich and goes off to bed.
The next morning he awake to the smell of cooking. He dressed and walked into the kitchen to find the farmers wife has prepared his breakfast of turkey dripping.
"Hebrews 13:18" he says as he sits down to eat, then he leaves for the morning to deliver his sermon, taking with him a packed lunch of turkey sandwiches.
That evening he returns to the farm and dines on turkey salad. Once more he says grace, and once more he ends it by saying "Hebrews 13:8". The farmers wife has noticed this saying.
The following day is very similar to the previous, the pastor eating meals of turkey and saying grace, ending with "Hebrews 13:8". When he retires for the night the farmers wife goes to the bookcase and finds her copy of the bible, and opens it to Hebrews 13:8....
